As of 6th April 2022, the Government updated Right to Work guidance for UK Employers. This update has introduced a new Digital Scheme which allows employers to remotely verify the identity of people with applicable documents using an Identity Service Provider (IDSP). This will replace the Covid-adjusted Right to Work guidance which ends on 1st October 2022.
The latest guidance strongly recommends that employers move to using a certified IDSP to digitally verify Right to Work documents in advance of the 1st October. As part of the guidance, it will also be compulsory to partner with a certified IDSP for online checks under the digital DBS Scheme.
AJ Recruitment has partnered with Trust ID for the last 2 years and we are pleased to say we are ahead of the October implementation date as last week TrustID has been certified as an Identity Service Provider for digital Right to Work checks and for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) digital identity Scheme.
To achieve certification, TrustID completed a rigorous audit process carried out by the Digital Identity Systems Certification service authorised by DCMS and UKAS. This latest certification demonstrates that TrustID meets relevant scheme guidance and the required GPG45 standards. It means that we can continue to both validate identity and confirm eligibility whether you choose to onboard remotely or face-to-face.
